Comments sought for 100km option

Posted by Sasquatch

We have had a few requests to include a 100km option for the Back Yamma Bigfoot. At present we don’t have the option to extend the track to include an extra 50km of ‘good’ riding. However, we are able to send riders on 2 laps of the 50km course creating a 100km option for those that like the long rides. If you are interested in this format please let us know by commenting here.

Sounds like a great idea. I dont enjoy multi lap races ie 8 hour races but the appeal of doing a course twice is a great idea. you get in some bulk kms but dont have to round the track 10 times. The way my brain works is twice is enough to remember the good bits and look forward to them but not remember when the bad bits are coming. Simple i know but when i first heard of this on rotoburn my first reaction was what a great idea.

Definitely add the second loop, cant wait for the event should be great. Are the trails rideable outside the event?

We are pretty keen to get the 100km option going. Just wanting to make sure there will be enough interest to warrant the extra work we will put in.

The trails are in state forest so can be accessed anytime. We will put a map and elevation profile up on the web shortly. Just confirming a couple sections of the 50km loop.

Happy to meet up for a ride out there sometime if interested.

I think a 100 k option would increase the number of participants you have especially from Sydney

Definitely interested in a 100km option. Two laps of 50 would be fine with me. I’m in Sydney and like to get to as many 100k races as I can.

My family ( wife and 2 kids) like to come along and make a long weekend trip of it and we are always looking for new events in new places ( kids are keen on a side trip to Dubbo Zoo …). It would be hard to justify the trip if it was only 50km though, especially just a few weeks after the Angry Doctor.

    Anyway… if there’s a 100km option, I’m in.

CB, the camping area is great and if your kids ride they’ll have a ball on some of the close in trails.
I rode down there over easter and had a ball, the tracks are mostly flat, very fast and flowy. It’ll make a great 100k course.
It’ll be a great family friendly race venue.
