Last minute video
For all those who should be working today but are day dreaming about the weekend at Back Yamma, here’s another video showing some riding at the Back Yamma forest. All of this is part of 2012′s course.
This was all taken with Contour’s cameras which are pretty awesome. Some of them even have a GPS which lets you do some interesting things. Check them out.
Entrant List
Here is the entrant list valid at Tuesday evening (4th Sep). If you entered since then you won’t be on the list.
This is so you can check if you are entered correctly.

Hi,
I was really happy that you had included a supermasters category this year but then really disappointed to find that after completing the 50k race there was no acknowledgement at presentation of there even being a supermasters female category. It is not my problem if there were no other female entrants and feel disappointed that I was listed with the male supermasters.
I am almost 60yrs old and was happy that I completed the race just under 3 hrs according to my computer and I also raced last year, driving from Sydney, and staying the weekend.
I paid my entry like everyone else and do not worry about prizes but for my category not to be even mentioned even though you did advise there was a supermasters female I am disappointed that I have been treated unfairly. This is really bad sportsmanship.
If I was the only female supermaster entry I did not know this on the day and would still have raced but don’t put me in a category that I am not. You need to encourage older females to enter these races, I am not an old fart yet! I ride an average of 250k /week and race in a vets cycling club.
Lorraine Werry
Hi Lorraine,
Wow, 250km a week. I need to ride more!
I had just finished writing about you (in the latest post) then saw your comment. Thanks for your feedback and we appreciate your point of view. We are sorry you feel that you have been treated unfairly. We perhaps could have made it clearer on the website that the supermasters and juniors categories had the sexes combined into the same category.
I hope that despite this you were able to enjoy your race and the whole Back Yamma experience.
Deciding on which categories to include for a smaller event can be hard. We’ll certainly take your comments into consideration in the future.
regards,
The Back Yamma Bigfoot team

A similar thing happend last year, a female friend was the only rider in the masters 50 km on a single speed bike & she finished in a time that would have got her 3rd in the non single speed however she was either lumped in with the guys or got no mention at all.
She swore she would never come back however I did & certainly enjoyed the new layout & low key atmosphere, you have been blessed by the weather for the past 2 years & I don’t mind the dust because the shower is money well spent.
2 points if I may.
1 – No posted results at the course this year so I had no idea how I went compared to last year or friends in different classes so no bets could be settled & no ego’s stroked. Last year you had them up within an hour or so of finishing.
2. At the presentation – Can I suggest you turn a speaker around back towards the the presentaion area as I couldn’t hear the announcer clearly & I was in the food que 5 meters from him. It was only after I walked back onto the start area that I could hear him & realised you had all the speakers facing the campsite.
Cheers
Ian
