Course

The Back Yamma Bigfoot offers riders the choice of a 29km, 52km or 104km course (note that the distances may vary a little from these nominal values). With no huge mountain climbs, the fast flowing hilly single tracks are a rare find. The course setters have explored every inch of the state forest looking for the best single tracks. Meticulous GPS mapping has allowed the setters to link amazing single track to awesome single track to offer one hell of a ride.
The course has been designed to cater to beginners, intermediate and advanced riders. Beginners can taste the fun of fast flowing single track in the “Little Foot” (29km option), while intermediate and advanced riders can push a little harder and take in some of the more technical aspects of the single track in the ‘Big Foot’ (52km option) and ‘Two Big Feet’ (104km option). Each course is designed to offer large amounts single track spread throughout the course to keep it interesting and allow plenty of opportunities to pass.
The Little Foot
One lap of Red (finish on Green) – 29km
The Little Foot will suit beginners and social riders. This loop will combine the flatter single track with one hilly single track pass for a little speed. This race will start after the more competitive Big Foot so riders should not feel pressured to ride fast if a social ride is all your after. Though sprint riders will find the 25km loop fast and exhilarating.
The Big Foot
One lap red, one lap of Blue, finish on Green – 52km
The Big Foot is the premier event and will take in around 25km of fast flowing fun single track. The remaining course will use fire trails and double track to link the best single track. The course is designed to be fast with the occasional log or creek crossing to keep you on your toes.
Two Big Feet
Red, Blue, Green, Red, Blue, finish on Green – 104km
Two Big Feet will suit the more experienced riders. The extra length will make for a good days ride. The course is pretty flat and fast. This race would be a perfect first attempt at a 100 km ride or for a more experienced rider trying to set a personal fastest time over 100 km. Riders in the Two Big Feet will be subject to cut-off times at the 50km and 75km marks as detailed below.

Two Odd Feet
Four laps of Red Loop (including Green ) – 116km
2012 Course Map
The 2012 course is a little different to last year but most of the course is the same as 2011. We have included a little more single track into the mix for your cycling pleasure.
One significant difference is the 4.5km Green finish chute which consists of some lovely flowing single track on a slight downhill followed by a double track blast back to the start/finish. All categories will ride this section as they come back to the start/finish. At the Blue/Red transition and feed zone, if you are not completing the blue loop, you continue onto the Green finish chute instead. Otherwise, the green finish chute is ridden after your expedition around the blue loop.
